Karl Malone

Karl Malone entered the NBA during the 1985 draft. He was underestimated by most NBA scouts, but the Utah Jazz picked him as the 13th overall pick. He was nicknamed "The Mailman" because he always delivers.

Malone was named MVP several times. He was an All-Star selection 14 out of his 15 years in the NBA. Malone was named one of the "50 Greatest Players in NBA History" and he was an 11 time All-NBA First Team selection.

Karl Malone’s real super stardom emerged during the 1988-89 season. This was the season that John Stockton joined the team. Malone averaged 27.7 points a game, reached a career high of 12.0 rebounds and ranked fifth in scoring and fourth in rebounding.Malone and Stockton were named All-NBA second team and appeared together in the all-star game.

The duo led the Jazz to the playoffs a few times, but Malone never took home a championship. However, he did take home an Olympic Gold Medal twice as he played for the "Dream Team" during the 1992 and 1996 games. Karl Malone retired from the NBA during the 2005 season. He was at that time playing with the Los Angeles Lakers alongside Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal.

Greg Anthony

He played in the NBA from 1991-2002.

Greg Anthony was drafted by the New York Knicks in the first round of the 1991 NBA Draft. He served as a backup point guard and defensive specialist for the Knicks until 1995, when he was picked up in the expansion draft by the Vancouver Grizzlies (now Memphis Grizzlies). After a decent career, in which he also played for Seattle, Portland, Chicago and Milwaukee, he retired in 2002.

Anthony currently works as an NBA analyst on ESPN and ABC.

James Worthy

Nicknamed Big Game James, was a college and professional basketball player from Gastonia, North Carolina.

He was drafted first overall by the Los Angeles Lakers. As a Laker, he contributed to 3 NBA championships in 1985, 1987, and 1988. He was best known for his one-handed tomahawk slam dunk.

He was a member of the 1983 NBA all-rookie team. His 36 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assist in Game 7 of the 1988 NBA Finals got him Most Valuable Player. He began wearing eye goggles after suffering a severe eye injury during the 1984-1985 season.

Worthy played in 926 NBA games, had a career field goal percentage of .521, and averaged 17.6 points per game. He was a first-ballot inductee into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003. His jersey #42 was retired by the Los Angeles Lakers after his retirement.

As of the 2005-2006 NBA season, Worthy works as a color commentator for Laker game telecasts and highlights on KCAL and KCBS television stations in Los Angeles. He also has been senior vice president of RP & Associates, a marketing company in Hermosa Beach, California, since February of 2005.

Dennis Rodman

Dennis Rodman is a professional basketball player best known for his defensive and rebounding ability.

When Rodman entered the NBA in 1986 and became one of the most dominant rebounders in NBA history. The Detroit Pistons took notice of him to select him in the second round of the 1986 NBA Draft.

Over the next few years Rodman played for the Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls.

After the Bulls, Rodman became a journeyman, joining the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks. After a long break, he has played for the Tijuana Dragons of the American Basketball Association and is currently playing for the Brighton Bears of the British Basketball League.
