Most Slovenes today live within the borders of the independent Slovenia (1,631,363). There are autochthonous Slovene minorities in northeastern parts of Italy (estimated at 83,000 - 100,000), southern Austria (18,000), Croatia (13,200) and Hungary (3,180). The Slovenes are recognised as national minorities in all four countries with which Slovenia shares a land border (Austria, Hungary, Croatia and Italy).

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria landed her first television role in 2000 when she guest starred on an episode of "Beverly Hills, 90210".  However, her big break was in the popular soap "The Young and the Restless". Longoria played Isabella Brana Williams from 2001 to 2003.  In 2003 she was listed in People en Español’s "Most Beautiful People".

She is best known for her role in the ABC Television series "Desperate Housewives". Longoria starred as adulteress Gabrielle Solis in the worldwide break-out ABC hit. The show was an overnight sensation and Longoria was well on her way to stardom.

Eva Longoria was featured on the cover of "Maxim" in 2005.  Soon after, Longoria became the face of L’Oreal internationally and she now appears in the company’s print and television ads.  In 2005, she was also rewarded for her performance in "Desperate Housewives" when she was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy.

Longoria is currently dating NBA basketball star Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs.

actor who gravitated toward dark, brooding roles that defied his leading-man looks, was found dead Tuesday in a Manhattan apartment, facedown at the foot of his bed with prescription sleeping pills nearby, police said.

Reluctant Celebrities

Every once in a while the media come across people who shy away from the fame and the glamour that is bestowed on them. They don’t crave for the limelight that 9 out of 10 people amongst the rich and the famous would, stardom is something that just happened on the way to achieving what they wanted to. Their ultimate aim wasn’t being glamorous and well known but earning fame in the field they chose. They are called reluctant celebrities and sometimes we at the media accidentally stumble upon such stars who don’t like the unwanted attention and the poking and prying into their lives. Actually come to think of it there are quite a few celebrities who like their stardom till a certain limit beyond which they guard their privacy fiercely. Entertainment news will get you updates on the so called reluctant celebrities too, celebrities who lead guarded lives away from the glare of the media.

Entertainment news is different because we would get you news of even those celebrities who actually did something worthwhile to earn the fame and the fortune. This isn’t only about run of the mill celebs like Katie Price who’d do anything to secure the attention of the newspapers and the shutterbugs or even Kevin Federline, Britney Spears ex husband who loved to bask in the glory of his wife’s past musical fortunes. The news shall get you stories on the celebrities from the literary world too, the ones who shut themselves up for months altogether to produce one masterpiece after another. Who can forget Ernest Hemingway, nicknamed "Papa" because he was also a part of the community known as the expatriate community in Paris that was moreover known as "the lost generation". Leading the colorful life that he did which included four marriages and a number of divorces the writer could not help but grab the attention of the media even if he did not want to. However his work spoke volumes of his talent as a littérateur as he was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1954 for his contribution to the world of English literature. His gruesome death at the end evoked the inquisitiveness of the media still more as he ended his own life in a bizarre fashion. Alyssa Milano

Alyssa Milano began her career at the age of eight, winning a part in an open audition for a national tour of Annie.

She quickly gained a reputation that led her to appear in TV commercials as well as off-Broadway theater productions. At the age of ten she took a role starring as ‘Sam Micelli" in the television program "Who’s the Boss?"

She was known for this role for the majority of her career. In 1985, Alyssa appeared in Commando, playing the role of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter. Eventually, the actress took part in several adult film roles, many of which included nudity or graphic simulated sex scenes. She made the transition to an adult actor with her success on TV series "Melrose Place" and "Charmed".

In 1989, Disney used her image for the character development of ‘Ariel’ in The Little Mermaid. In 2001, Alyssa Milano appeared in commercials for 1-800-COLLECT.

Aside from her acting career, Milano is also an accomplished singer and recording artist. She has released five albums reaching sales of over one million copies in Japan and has appeared in a music video for Blink-182.
