Sarah Fisher
Sarah Fisher is a professional race car driver.
She got her first professional start in 1999 with the Indy Racing League. She had her first full season in 2000, and she became only the third female driver to start the Indianapolis 500.
From 2001 to 2003, she was voted the series’ most popular driver. As of 2006, her best finish of second at Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2001 is the highest finish ever by a woman in a major North American open-wheel race. She also won the MBNA pole position in the Belterra Casino Indy 300 at the Kentucky Speedway in 2002, becoming the first woman to win pole position in a major North American open-wheel race.
Early in 2006, she had said she wanted to race in NASCAR, however, that has not happened to date.
