Carlos Valderrama, also known as "El Pibe" (the kid), is a former soccer player.As a midfielder,he is often considered the best Colombian player of all time.

He is skillful passing and shielding and is recognizable for his large bush of orange dyed hair. He holds an amazing ability to dominate the match playing in walking pace. Valderrama played for Colombia during the World Cups of 1990, 1994, and 1998 during which he received 111 caps and scored 11 times.

While playing in MLS, he proved to be the league’s all-time leader in assists with 114. In 2005, Valderrama was named to the MLS All-Time Best XI. He was the only Colombian to have been featured in FIFA’s 125 Top Living Football Players list in March 2004. "El Pibe" began his career in 1981 at Union Magdalena of the Colombian First Division. In 1990, he was transferred to Spain’s ‘Real Valladolid’ before returning to Colombia in 1992 to play for teams Independiente Medellín and Atlético Junior. He later went on to play in the MLS. He played for the ‘Tampa Bay Mutiny’, the Miami Fusion, and the Colorado Rapids.

Valderrama ended his 22-year career in February 2004, in a tribute match with the most important football players of South America; Diego Maradona, Enzo Francescoli and Jose Luis Chilavert.
